The 2010 University of Arkansas Archeological Field School at Historic Washington

HISTORIC WASHINGTON STATE PARK
(ca. 1830s-1890s)

Students will receive training in controlled excavation, field survey, instrument mapping, geophysical prospecting, artifact identification, and artifact analysis. There will also be a series of afternoon/evening lectures and assigned readings on Historical and African-American Archeology.  We will work Monday through Friday, with weekends off.  You will have the option of staying at Historic Washington State Park during the weekends, or returning to Fayetteville (or elsewhere).   

Number of Students: enrollment will be capped at 10 students.

Tuition: All students will be enrolled for 6 credit hours. Both undergradute (ANT 4256) and graduate (ANT 561V) is available.

Off-Campus Fees $25.00 per credit hour $25.00 per credit hour

Student Fees: In addition to the standard tuition and fees payable to the Registrar's, there will be an additional fee of $250 assessed per student, to cover the cost of all meals, gasoline, film and film processing, artifact bags, and other miscellaneous supplies, as well as a cleaning fee for the residence.

Lodging: field headquarters will be in a bunkhouse provided by Historic Washington State Park.

To earn academic credit in association with the summer 2010 Field School, simply complete the attached Course Registration Form and return it to Nancy Arnold by May 10, 2010. You will be administratively enrolled in ANTH 4256. Charges for tuition and fees will appear on ISIS.
