2004 Archeological Excavations at Cane Hill, Arkansas:
"From Dalton to the Depression"

Spring 2004: March 8th-12th (M-F) & March 15th-18th (M-Th)


  Stone lined basement at 3WA1233The Arkansas Archeological Survey's Fayetteville Research Station will sponsor an excavation at site 3WA1233, a multicomponet site with occupations from the Dalton Period (ca. 9000 BP) to the Great Depression. Excavations will concentrate on the detached kitchen and other features associated with an antebellum house on the site. Excavations will be conducted this March during Arkansas Archeology Month. Students and members of the public who would like to see (and/or participate in) the excavations are requested to contact Jamie Brandon or Jerry Hilliard to make arrangements.
