Workers from Emerson Monument Company righting the gravestone of Talia Ferro Bostick. In the summer and fall of 2005, Emerson Monument Company generously donated their time and expertise to re-set and re-seal many of the stones that had been toppled over. Bostick's is the first gravestone they righted. Bostick was a student at the Arkansas Academy (precursor to the University of Arkansas), who died in 1856. The Bostick monument is one of the first a visitor sees coming through the northwest entrance. We appreciate the Emerson Monument Company's efforts very much. |
