2001 University of Arkansas Field School at Van Winkle's Mill

During the months of July and August in 2001 a University of Arkansas at Fayetteville archeological field school under the direction of Jamie Brandon, James Davidson, Jerry Hilliard and Dr. George Sabo returned to the Van Winkle site. Excavations concentrated on uncovering the remainder of the Feature 9 structure, but testing was also conducted at a possible slave quarter (Feature 33) and on the boiler platform within the mill complex.
